Nigerian govt files new terrorism charges against Kanu

Appeal Court stays execution of judgment in ordering Kanu's release

New terrorism charges have been filed against the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu by the Nigerian Government.

This is coming barely 24 hours to the scheduled commencement of hearing by trial Justice Binta Nyako.

Caracal Reports learnt that the Federal Government had increased the counts in the initial charges it preferred against Kanu at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Kanu who faced a seven-count treasonable felony charge will now enter a fresh plea to a 15-count amended charge marked FHC/ABJ/CR/383/2015, and signed by the Director of Public Prosecution, DPP, M. B. Abubakar.
