MC Oluomo’s Suspension: CP orders security beef up in Lagos

Following the indefinite suspension of the Lagos State chapter Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly called MC Oluomo, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, has directed that security be beef up across the state.
Alabi directed all area commanders and divisional police officers to also maintain visibility in their area of coverage.
NURTW suspended Oluomo over alleged misconduct, insubordination, and inciting members of the state chapter against the national body.

The body directed him to immediately hand over power to his deputy chairman and to release all property belonging to the body in his possession to the state secretary.
The Lagos State CP disclosed his directive to police in the state over MC Oluomo’s matter during an interview with Channels Television on Thursday.
He said a directive has been given on the deployment and patrol of all motor parks across the state, assuring residents of the state of adequate security of life and property.
According to Alabi, the move is to ensure any form of violence that may arise as a result of MC Oluomo’s suspension will be curbed.
