Buni, Malami meet Buhari in London over APC’s leadership tussle

Apparently in a bid to remain as the All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) chairman, Yobe State, Governor Mai Mala Buni has scheduled a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari in London, the United Kingdom.
According to a source, Bumi will be accompanied to the meeting with the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Mr. Abubakar Malami (SAN) among others.
The source said that Malami, Friday night, arrived in London for the meeting.
Malami, is among those who cautioned the APC against the move to sack Buni as the party’s chairman.
Buni, who has been in Dubai, the United Arab Emirate, was said to have earlier billed to return to Nigeria Wednesday night, but later made a change of plan and instead, travelled to London, for the purpose of the meeting with Buhari, who currently is on two weeks medical leave.
It was also gathered from another source that the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Godwin Emefiele, would be meeting with Buhari in the UK.
It is not yet clear if Emefiele is going to meet Buhari jointly with Buni and Malami, or for his own rumoured presidential ambition.
However, according to another source, the CBN governor only intends to brief Buhari on the current state of Nigeria’s economy when the meet in London.
