Ogun: Police nab wanted suspected armed robber with a gun

Christian Peter, a “notorious wanted cultist and an armed robbery suspect,” was apprehended by police in Ogun State.

Peter was apprehended on Tuesday after being on the command’s wanted list for some time.

The suspect was apprehended as CSP Folashade Tanaruno, the DPO of Mowe division, was on normal patrol with his anti-robbery unit on the Mowe/Ofada route.

The guy was spotted carrying a waist bag within the premises of a hotel in Mowe’s Olororo neighborhood.

Peter attempted to flee when he saw the police squad, according to Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Ogun State police spokesman, “but he was immediately impeded and detained.”

On Wednesday, Oyeyemi revealed that the suspect’s waist bag was promptly checked, “and a locally produced double barrel handgun, loaded with four live rounds, was located inside.”

“He is one among the current hoodlums harassing the Mowe/Ofada axis,” a police official claimed.

Meanwhile, Lanre Bankole, the Commissioner of Police, is claimed to have ordered the suspect’s immediate transfer to the State CIID for discreet investigation.
