Niger Police rescues 15 Kidnap Victims, arrest 3 Bandits

The Nigeria Police Force, Niger State Command, said that its agents rescued 15 kidnapped victims and apprehended three bandits.

According to DSP Wasiu A. Abiodun, Police Public Relations Officer, “on 11/05/2022 at around 1330hrs, intelligence was received that suspected armed bandits were observed near Agigi/Kpashimi forest via Lapai LGA.”

According to him, the command promptly dispatched police and soldiers to the area, including vigilante members, who engaged the robbers in a gun fight and subdued them.

According to him, three suspected bandits were apprehended, 15 abducted victims were released, and some injured bandits fled to the jungle with bullet wounds.

He also stated that two burned bikes were retrieved from the robbers’ hideout.
