Buhari is a soldier, he lacks ability to understand politics —Bala Mohammed

Bauchi State Governor and 2023 presidential aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bala Mohammed has described President Muhammadu Buhari as a soldier who does not understand politics and people.

He said Buhari failed to live up to expectations because he is surrounded by deceitful people.

Mohammed said this on Sunday while addressing delegates and party leaders in Katsina as part of his meeting with party members ahead of the primaries.

He said, “The people of Katsina state have done great things for the development of this country, an example is what late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua has done for Nigeria, May Allah repose his soul.

“But unfortunately, your son, our father, the current president, is surrounded by dishonest people, liars whom he thought are people of integrity because he is a soldier, he doesn’t know people or politics.

“We know everybody, both good and bad ones, we must correct that bad impression that we are all bad people, we must secure the future for our children and grandchildren, and we need dogged people like me.”

He assured that if given the opportunity, he would deploy the experiences he garnered as a journalist, a civil servant, a politician and an administrator who served as FCT Minister for six years and Governor of Bauchi State, to put the country back on track.

On insecurity, he said, “This issue of banditry has become like a plot that even the armed forces have become insignificant in the fight, they are not given the needed equipment to face the enemy. We must elect people that can salvage the situation.”
