Many feared dead as explosion rocks Kano
At Sabon Gari Quarters in Kano State, an explosion killed several people and wounded many more.
Over five individuals were pulled from the wreckage of the blast, according to our journalist who was on the site.
Despite the fact that many people are buried beneath the debris of the impacted home, which is located next to a primary school, one eyewitness stated he saw a young man strolling down the street when something burst, either on him or from the structure.
Although neither security authorities nor the National Emergency Management Agency have commented on the reason of the explosion, numerous people have already been confirmed dead, with many more still trapped beneath the wreckage of the exploding house.
Muhammad Alhassan, the state’s DSS chief, and Samaila Shuaibu Diko, the state’s police commissioner, were both present at the scene.
Military, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), and other personnel were also present.
The Kano State Government has denied that it was an attack on the school, claiming that the explosion damaged an animal pet business.
The administration is attempting to determine the cause of the explosion, as well as the extent of damage and injuries, according to Muhammad Garba, the state Commissioner for Information.
