In some regions of Lagos State, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has ordered a ban on the operating of commercial motorbikes, generally known as Okadas.

Following the horrible death of David, a Sound Engineer, the ban was imposed.

David was killed and burned by several enraged okada riders in the state’s Lekki district, a tragic occurrence for which ten people had previously been arrested.

Sanwo-Olu said the instruction covers all roads and several local governments, including Eti-Osa, Ikeja, Surulere, Lagos Island, Lagos Mainland, and Apapa, while speaking with all DPOs and Area Commanders throughout the state at the Lagos House, Ikeja.

Other security agencies, according to the governor, will help in the enforcement.
