Zamfara: PDP suspends chairman over anti-party activities
Bala Mande, the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Zamfara State, has been suspended for suspected anti-party actions.
This was said in a press statement signed by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Abba Bello, and sent to journalists in Gusau.
The beleaguered chairman was suspended, according to the statement, for his involvement in anti-party activities.
According to the report, Mande has been running the party without the input of the State Working Committee or the party’s leaders.
“This is to tell the general public and followers of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), that Colonel Bala Mande (rtd), the State Chairman of our party, has been suspended for anti-party actions.”
“This becomes necessary owing to the fact that the Chairman has been conducting the affairs of the party without the involvement of the State Working Committee, and the leader of the party which is a flagrant violation of the constitution of our party”
“The suspension has become necessary to forestall the abuse of power and offending the constitution of the party”.
“The suspension is for a period of one month to allow the Working Committee constitute a panel of inquiry into the allegations”
