The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has busted a renowned motorcycle gang terrorizing the residents of Jahun Local Government in Jigawa State.
According to NSCDC spokesman CSC Adamu Shehu of Jigawa State Command, the operatives of the NSCDC were successful in arresting two of the syndicate members for their participation in a case of theft and criminal conspiracy in violation of sections 97 and 286 of the Penal Code Law.
Mamman Garba, 24, and his accomplice, Ummi Sa’adu, 20, were among the suspects, according to Adamu.
He said the suspects were apprehended after a complaint was filed at the NSCDC Divisional Office in Jahun, and that the offenders were known for fooling their victims.
The suspects admitted to fleeing with six different motorcycles and disposing of them.
According to Adamu, the inquiry led to the arrest of five people who were receiving stolen motorcycles.
“After an investigation, the suspects will be charged in court,” he stated.
