After the disposal of a mutilated body on the runway at Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed International Airport, flight operations have resumed.

Full flight operations have resumed, according to a source who spoke on the condition of anonymity, after the runway was cleansed of the mangled body of an unidentified male.

The international wing of MMIA, Lagos, was briefly shut down in the early hours of Thursday, according to reports, after the mutilated body of a deceased man was discovered on Runway 18R.

The body was discovered on Runway 18R during a normal FAAN runway check, according to airport officials.

However, airport authorities told our correspondent that the runway was temporarily closed while a crew from the Federal Airports Authority of the Nigeria and the Nigeria Police Force evacuated the corpse from the runway.

International planes were unable to land or take off from the airport’s international terminal during the runway’s temporary closure.
