2023: APC unveils Shettima as Tinubu’s running mate amid Muslim-Muslim controversy

Former Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima has been named as the All Progressives Congress’s (APC) presidential running partner for 2023.

Shettima was revealed on Wednesday at a ceremony in Abuja.

Bashir Ahmad, President Muhammadu Buhari’s former Personal Assistant on New Media, revealed this in a tweet.

“Our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), unveils Senator Kashim Shettima as the running mate of our presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he tweeted.

Following his election as the party’s presidential candidate, APC presidential candidate Bola Tinubu chose Shettima as his running partner.

Tinubu’s nomination of Shettima has sparked outrage across Nigeria.

Most Nigerians expected the APC presidential candidate to choose a Christian as his running partner, but he instead chose a Northern Muslim.
