34 internet fraudsters arrested in Oyo

EFCC arraigns Lagos businesswoman Ramalan-Yaro, company for N140bn fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Ibadan Zonal Command has detained 34 alleged online scammers.

According to a statement posted on the EFCC’s Twitter page, 21 of the suspects were apprehended in a sting operation on Monday, July 25, 2022, in the Apete and Ijokodo regions of Ibadan, Oyo State.

The accused are Paul Uche Obinna, Ola Kareem, Dazumi Hammed Adeiza, Olamilekan Gabriel Ahmed, Olowe Nifemi Michael, Osisi Ikenna Nicholas, Dazumi Abdullahi Razak, Adejuyigbe Abayomi Babatunde, Adesokan Afez Afolabi, Tobiloba Joshua Adejuyi, Dazumi Azeez Jayeola,

Ibrahim Muhammed Hassan, Salam Ademola Samson, David Sunday Chukwudi, Kolapo Abdulrazak Seyi, Lawal Adesina Sheriff, Faeji Tobiloba Raphael, Bello Ibrahim Damilola, and Abisoye Israel Olamilekan are among those who have made the list.

On Friday, July 22, 2022, the remaining 13 suspects were apprehended on Airport Road in Alakia and Ologuneru in Ibadan.

Salami Ayo Wisdom, Afeez Sode Gbolahan, Abdulkadiri Ojo Adams, Awe Olabiyi Omotayo, Adeniyi Auwal Tomiwa, Abudu Olamiotan Sunday, and Ayomide Adeniyi Surajudeen are the accused.

Olasunkanmi Quadri Adewale, Oladotun Kunle Tijani, Adekunle Damilare Elijah, Abudu Kayode Donald, Eyinla Temitayo Emmanuel, and Adekunle Imole Ayo are among the others.

The accused were found with exotic automobiles, laptop computers, several brands of mobile phones, and other false papers.

The suspects will be charged in court as soon as the inquiry is done, according to the commission.
