Thugs invade Catholic church, cart away PVC reg machines in Lagos
Thugs disrupted the current Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) activity at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Ijesha, Surulere, Lagos State, on Friday.
The thugs took the Continuous Voter Registration devices from the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The event occurred less than 72 hours before INEC closed the CVR.
Following the event, the Parish Priest shut the church and fled for safety.
According to an eyewitness, Dr. Ambassador Princess Okojie Igbemudia, the thugs rushed the church and stopped the procedure because those enrolling will vote for Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate.
It was learned that police had been dispatched to the area to maintain peace and order.
