Hakeem Baba-Ahmed condemned killing of Northerners in South-East

Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, spokesman for the Northern Elders Forum, NEF, has issued a warning against murdering Northerners in the Southeast.

According to Baba-Ahmed, targeting and murdering Northerners in the Southeast is risky.

He warned that such a move might exacerbate communal tensions in other regions of Nigeria.

The NEF spokesperson stated in a tweet that politicians seeking votes should explicitly denounce such conduct.

He emphasised that such discrimination against Northerners must end.

“Targeting and murdering of Northerners, particularly in the South-East, should be denounced and must cease,” Baba-Ahmed stated.

“It is quite hazardous because it has the potential to exacerbate communal relations in other sections of the country.”

“Those who want our votes must issue clear and unequivocal condemnations.”
