Kogi police arrest man for allegedly killing, burying friend in his house

A middle-aged man has been detained by the Kogi State Police Command for murdering his companion and hiding his body in his residence in Lokoja, Kogi State.

According to information received, the event occurred at Felele, Lokoja, where the late Kehinde lived with his family.

On July 24, 2023, the accused individual, whose identity has been concealed, reportedly murdered his buddy, late Mr Kehinde Ajayi.

According to sources, Kehinde had recently purchased a Toyota Sienna automobile, and his friend, the accused killer, who works as an air conditioner repairman, invited him to come celebrate the new car.

According to the source, the late Kehinde and others then traveled to an undisclosed location to party, but it was the last time he was seen.

When the late Kehinde’s family reported him missing to the police, one of his pals, who was a suspect, was detained and provided valuable information regarding what happened to the late Kehinde.

According to the informant, the suspect fled with his car after murdering him.

According to reports, he brought police officers to his home on Monday and reportedly buried Kehinde’s body.

However, some enraged youngsters who were there when police found the body assaulted the suspect’s home after the body was excavated.

Meanwhile, the event was verified by the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Ayah.

He stated that the late Kehinde’s body had been recovered and an investigation is ongoing to arrest others who might have been involved in the killing of late Kehinde.
