The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, says there is no room for rigging in the 2023 general elections in Anambra State.

The Anambra State Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Commission, Dr. Queen-Elizabeth Agwu stated this when she led management staff of the commission in the State on a courtesy visit to the traditional ruler of Awka Community, Obi Gibson Nwosu.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner assured of the Commission’s readiness to ensure free, credible and transparent election, adding that the votes and voices of the people must count and be heard because it is no longer business as usual.

Dr. Agwu urged candidates and electorates to see the election as a brother and not a do or die affair while reiterating that through the use of Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, BVAS , the manipulation of electoral process through any means is gone.
Imploring the youths to be careful during the elections, Dr. Agwu disclosed that the Commission has been to all the twenty-one local government areas in the state to display the register of voters, assuring that those who registered from January this year will soon start collecting them.

She thanked the traditional ruler and his cabinet for welcoming them while seeking their support and cooperation in possible areas.
Responding, Obi Nwosu, who assured to support the Commission in relevant areas within its powers, advised them to  work for the interest of the people, states and the nation.

In a vote of thanks, the INEC Administrative Secretary, Anambra State, Mr. Jude Okwuonu, thanked the traditional ruler for welcoming them and  assured to peacefully discharge their duties as required.
