IGP Baba Visits Governor Soludo, Assures Of Surmounting Security Challenges In South East
The Inspector General of Police, Alkali Usman Baba has assured of surmounting the security challenges facing the South East.
The IGP gave the assurance when he paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo at Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia.
While congratulating the Governor on the good work he has been doing as Governor of the State, IGP Baba stated that the Nigeria police has been making effort to add value to improving the welfare of the officers one of which is provision of accomodation for the officers.
The IGP who explained that the courtesy call was customary, said that his visit to the Anambra was to commission some new police structures by the Force.
The Governor used the opportunity to appreciate the IGP, Nigeria Police Force and security agencies in Nigeria for the great job they have been doing under very difficult circumstances.
The Governor noted that for some time, the question of whether the federal government can provide all the needed resources for the Force, has been evaded, which will be eventually answered.
According to the Governor who said that what is going on in the South East is nothing short of plain criminality, noted that the criminal elements in Anambra are gradually being degraded, expressing optimism of more results in the near future.
Service Commanders in Anambra, top Police officers including the Commissioner of Police in Anambra, were present at the meeting.
