Reason Datti Baba-Ahmed cried during town hall meeting on live TV

In a town hall meeting hosted by Channels TV on Sunday, Labour Party vice presidential candidate Datti Baba-Ahmed sobbed openly.

Baba-Ahmed, who featured in the program alongside Peter Obi, the LP presidential candidate, claimed that once he was selected as Obi’s running mate, his family started receiving threats.

He said, “When I joined the ticket, I impeached certain lies against him (Peter Obi) and particularly my good friend on the APC side on the same level. You know when people think they have money, they have power, and the sitting authority is theirs.

“However, my family and I have been paying a huge price for my attempts to rescue Nigeria. They sent all sorts of people after me. I would have been much happier if only they stopped at me as an individual.”

As he said those words, the vice-presidential candidate fought back tears.

Femi Fani-Kayode, a former minister who is a member of the campaign staff for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress’presidential candidate, is one of those who has consistently criticized Baba-Ahmed.
