27 states assemblies forward constitutional amendment bills to National Assembly
The National Assembly has received resolutions from 27 State Houses of Assembly on 35 proposed constitutional change legislation.
As a result, the Senate gave the Clerk of the National Assembly instructions to send President Muhammadu Buhari the 35 proposed constitutional amendment legislation that have thus far been approved in accordance with section 9(2) of the constitution.
In order to fulfill their legally mandated legislative duty, the upper chamber also urged the remaining nine state Houses of Assembly to submit their resolutions on the proposed constitutional amendments.
The following state Houses of Assembly have not yet sent resolutions to the National Assembly: Gombe, Jigawa, Kebbi, Kwara, Oyo, Plateau, Sokoto, Taraba, and Zamfara.
