Lagos Partners with ARCA to Develop Parking Payment App
The Lagos State Government and ARCA Payment Ltd. have teamed up to create a parking payment application that will improve organized parking operations in an effort to make parking in the city seamless.
The General Manager of LASPA, Mrs. Adebisi Adelabu, announced this development at a meeting between the LASPA and ARCA Payment Ltd. The partnership, according to Adelabu, aims to improve the overall parking system by ensuring a smooth transaction process for permits, registration, and inquiries, among other things.
According to her, this is a commitment towards integrating technological solutions into the authority’s parking management system, which will provide a user-friendly system while building an accurate database to manage parking proceedings for the state.
She noted that the authority had adopted innovative ways in providing lasting solutions to parking challenges for a safe and secured environment, adding that the ultimate aim was to give Lagosians the best and most suitable parking experience.
Adelabu explained that the initiative guarantees a stress-free process for end-users of the authority’s services, emphasising the effect on reconciliation and revenue assurance for the government.
The general manager emphasised that the authority had been committed to supporting various organisations and business entities to identify and proffer long-term solutions to their parking challenges as it had observed that most organisations operating in the state lack adequate parking space, which contributed to indiscriminate parking.
While describing the various interventions introduced to reduce indiscriminate parking across the state, she averred that the government had commenced the installation of signage and lane markings in phases across the state to guide motorists and pedestrians on available parking lots.
She urged the public to support the LASPA’s efforts towards improving the parking system of the state, noting that enforcement of parking regulations had significantly reduced road mishaps and traffic congestion across the metropolis.
