A former Nigerian Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar (retd.), has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to drop the alleged plan by his government to increase the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) otherwise known as petrol to N302 per litre.

He said that the government going ahead with such a plan will amount to making more Nigerians poor.

Recall that recent reports had claimed that the government had plans to increase the price of petrol to N302 per litre in February 2022.

According to reports, it was part of the recommendations of the National Economic Council (NEC) to the government.

But, speaking during the 19th Daily Trust Dialogue in Abuja, Abdusalami warned against such a plan.

He urged the Federal Governnent to abandon the idea.
