A former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has described as inhuman and condemnable the alleged move by the Beninese government to extend Yoruba Nation freedom fighter, Sunday Adeyemo, known as Sunday Igboho’s detention by six months.

Igboho’s counsel, Yomi Aliyyu, is said to have revealed that his client’s detention was extended by six months without any criminal charges brought against him.

But responding in a tweet on his verified Twitter handle, Sani frowned at the development.

He wrote, “I don’t support Igboho’s separatist ideas and activities in any way, but the reported extension of his detention by six months is inhuman and condemnable.”

Igboho has remained in detention in Benin since his arrest in Cotonou on July 19, 2021, while on his way to Germany.

His arrest came after the Department of State Services declared the Yoruba Nation agitator wanted over the alleged discovery of weapons in his Ibadan home.
