Tambuwal says South might find it difficult winning presidency for PDP
The Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, on Tuesday said that it might be difficult for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to return to power in 2023 with a southern presidential candidate.
Tambuwal stated this during a consultative meeting with former principal officers of the National Assembly in Abuja.
The Sokoto State governor argued that “you cannot zone what you don’t have”.

He called on the PDP leadership and other stakeholders to first win the election before zoning it.
While saying that votes cast in recent elections showed why it might be difficult for the South to win the presidency for the PDP, Tambuwal
appealed to the party to be strategic.
According to him, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) took their presidential candidate to Katsina State in 2015 even when the Late Umaru Musa Yar’adua who was in office was also from Katsina.
He, therefore, advised the opposition party to concentrate on how to win the election than zoning of offices.
