Ayibaina Duba, the Bayelsa State Commissioner for Information, Orientation, and Strategy, has hailed Governor Douye Diri’s administration as responsive and accountable.

The government, he said, was committed to serving the people and tackling their developmental and socioeconomic concerns.

This was mentioned by Duba in a conversation with journalists on Friday, shortly after an inspection tour of the administration’s approximately 20 internal road projects in Yenagoa and its metropolitan.

“This government is a responsive and responsible government. Anytime we see issues, where people need things, we always go for it and give them what they want.

“As I have always said in the past, Bayelsans should understand that they are in the safe hands of His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, who is a man of humility and plans deeply, taking into consideration every factor before doing anything.”, he explained.

Duba stated that construction activity had not ceased at any of the current government’s project sites, and that all contract jobs issued by the administration had been completed in a seamless and peaceful manner.

He also stated that over 20 internal road projects were awarded to indigenous contractors in accordance with the government’s prosperity program, which included the construction of infrastructure to benefit a large number of inhabitants.

The commissioner also praised people for their tolerance of the minor inconvenience caused by road construction in their neighborhoods, noting that they are the primary benefactors and will enjoy long-term happiness and comfort after the project is completed.

Moses Teibowei, the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, also spoke, saying that only three of the approximately 20 internal roads needed to be finished.

He stated that they would be finished in the following two months.

Teibowei said, “We have just three out of the more than 20 roads left. All the roads are directly supervised by the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, and we (the administration) will continue to do more.”

Doncont Road in Amarata; Egili Road in Yenizue-Epie; Otariah Street connecting Erepa Road and Otiotio Road; Imiringi Road and others were among the routes inspected.
