Former Chelsea midfielder John Mikel Obi has been named the English Premier League’s youngest centurion.

On Saturday, Chelsea’s official website stated that the former Super Eagles captain is the club’s youngest player to reach 100 Premier League appearances.

On the list, Mikel Obi is ahead of players like John Terry, Eddie Newton, and Mason Mount.

At the age of 22 years and 291 days, the Nigerian made his debut for Chelsea in a 2-0 win over Arsenal on February 7, 2010.

He’s ahead of John Terry, who made his 100th appearance a month after turning 23, in a 4-0 win over Leicester City, Newton (23 years and 88 days), and Mount (23 years and 88 days) (23 years and 100 days)

Mikel Obi joined Chelsea in the summer of 2006, and in his debut season, he made 22 appearances in the Premier League.

In January 2017, the 34-year-old departed Chelsea for Tianjin TEDA in China.
