Kidnappers release hospital owner after alleged N3m ransom

Gunmen who kidnapped Abdulrasheed, the proprietor of a private hospital in Oyo State’s Surulere Local Government Area, have freed him.
The victim owns and operates a private hospital in Gbede, Surulere Local Government Area.
Last Friday night, the victim was kidnapped.
The kidnappers had phoned the family earlier on Monday, demanding a N30 million ransom.
According to a source, the victim was eventually released after the kidnappers were given N3 million.
Hon Isaiah Adegbite, Chairman of Surulere Local Government, verified his release, saying the family paid a ransom of N3m to the gunmen.
According to information received, Christopher Bakare, a supervisor at the farm of the late Adebayo Alao-Akala, a former governor of the state, was released after a ransom of N5 million was paid.
This month, two kidnappings have been reported in the same local government region.
