Four men gang-rape teenager over father’s ‘offence’ in Anambra

The National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, Anambra State, in collaboration with vigilantes, has arrested three persons for allegedly gang-raping a 13-year-old girl.

It was gathered that the four suspects were involved in the ugly incident, but while three of them were arrested, the fourth suspect escaped when security operatives invaded their neighborhood at Nkpor, near Onitsha, Anambra State.
This incident was disclosed by the State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Mrs Ify Obinabo through her media aide, Chidimma Ikeanyionwu, during an interview with journalists in Awka, Anambra state. 

She said the culprits are presently in detention at the State’s Police Headquarters where they await prosecution. 
The commissioner praised the victim and assured her of getting justice from her defilers. 

During interrogation, two of the suspects admitted to committing the crime and pleaded for mercy, saying that the victim was raped after a disagreement with her father. The third, however, denied having canal knowledge of her, stating that he was merely an onlooker. His claim was contrary to the victim’s report who said that he was the second to defile her. 

The victim, while narrating her experience, said she was first slapped by the boys, then dragged to Nkisi, before she was ordered to remove her clothes as the suspects took turns to have carnal knowledge of her,” the commissioner added.
