2023: NSA vows to deal with politicians causing violence
Major General Babagana Monguno (rtd), the National Security Adviser, has warned state governors who utilize thugs to stop the opposition from putting up campaign signs in their territories that security agents will soon surround them.
He also cautioned that when law enforcement agencies take action, there would be nowhere for the perpetrators to hide. He was the moderator of the ministerial briefing held today (Thursday) at the state house.
The NSA attributed state governors’ actions to what he called an inferiority complex in response to news that some of them had implemented laws preventing the presence of opposition campaign materials in their states.
Reiterating that President Muhammadu Buhari had issued explicit instructions that the 2023 election must be free, fair, and credible, he warned the governors to control their goons under what he calls a “Cabo regime.”
He reiterates his vow to deal firmly with the attackers of the ongoing attacks on INEC offices.
