Former INEC chairman, Attahiru Jega appointed as Chancellor of New Kano University by Governor Ganduje

Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has appointed Professor Attahiru Jega, the former Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, as the Chancellor of the state-owned Sa’adatu Rimi University of Education, Kumbotso.

The announcement was made by Malam Muhammad Garba, the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, after the state’s Executive Council meeting. Additionally, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje approved the appointment of Oba Dr. Senator Moshood Olalekan Ishola Balogun Aliiwo as the Pro-Chancellor/Chairman of the Governing Council of the new University. The appointments aim to promote academic excellence and improve the quality of education in the state.
