Gunmen kill APC chairman, burn hundreds of houses in Kogi attack
Several people, including the Ward chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), James Adah, were killed in an attack on Aloko, a community in Oganenigu Ward of Dekina Local Government Area (LGA) of Kogi State.
Gunmen numbering in the hundreds burnt hundreds of houses during the attack, which occurred in the early hours of Sunday, April 2, 2023, from a base in the neighbouring Bassa LGA. The attackers reportedly started shooting anyone in sight and set houses ablaze upon arrival. The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP William Aya, is yet to comment on the attack. Meanwhile, in a related development, gunmen killed one worshipper during an attack on a Christian Pentecostal Church in Akenawe-Tswarev community in Logo Local Government Area (LGA) of Benue State.
