Former Speaker Dogara Urges President Tinubu to Prosecute Oil Thieves, Calls for Security Measures

Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to take decisive action against the notorious oil cabals and hold them accountable for their illicit activities. Dogara made this appeal while attending a Thanksgiving Church service in honor of Reverend Yunusa Nmadu, the outgoing General Secretary of Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) in Kaduna State.

Recognizing the President’s demonstrated leadership, Dogara emphasized the need for him to ensure the recovery of all embezzled funds from these influential entities. The former Speaker also commended President Tinubu for his inclusive approach in appointing the new service chiefs, transcending party lines, ethnic divisions, and religious affiliations.

Expressing their support for the appointment of the new service chiefs, ECWA General Secretary Reverend Yunusa Nmadu and Senator Sunday Katung, who represents Southern Kaduna, highlighted the significance of equity and justice in these selections. However, they urged the newly appointed service chiefs to prioritize addressing the alarming levels of insecurity that continue to plague the country, particularly in the northern region. Furthermore, they called on President Tinubu to implement measures to alleviate the impact of the removal of fuel subsidies by providing necessary palliatives.

As Nigeria grapples with the scourge of oil theft and widespread security challenges, Dogara’s plea for President Tinubu to confront the oil cabals and recover stolen funds echoes the collective desire for justice and accountability.
